Griffith University Medicine Society

Griffith University Medicine Society

Formed in 2005 by an eager bunch of first year medical students, the Griffith University Medicine Society (GUMS) has developed into a respected organisation that represents the 600 medical students of Griffith University and provides advocacy and support through academic, social and community activities.

Through GUMS there exists student representation on the school and education committees to promote the rights and welfare of medical students at Griffith University. We also have representation on AMSA, the Australian Medical Students Association, which is the national body of medical students in Australia.
Although the membership of GUMS is derived exclusively from medical students, our presence within both the local community and the national medical student community is continuing to expand.
